Starting to look more like a car..

Throttle cable

I wanted to get the throttle cable fitted into the throttle bodies..

The cable end needed filing down to fit into the little hole where it is pushed into.

Rad and Oil Cooler

Fitted the radiator temporarily as I wanted to make an adapter to mount the oil cooler.

I had some angle aluminium in stock that I have seen used before to mount oil coolers, it seemed to work well.

I made sure there was just enough room for the pipework to fit in place.  The pipework has to go in from the top to avoid any airlocks.

Really pleased with the results, doesn't look too bad and its really strong.

Laid out the braided hoses and marked the lengths. I am sending these back to AB performance to cut to length and fit the fittings. They offer these as a service and I am just sending them back my tank to have a fuel pump and swirl pot welded in.

Wheel bearings / Hubs

The bearing grease turned up so I wanted to have a crack at fitting the wheel bearings and hubs.

I covered the spline and bearing with grease to help push it into position. I ended up using my trolley jack handle to push over the spline and wack the bearing into position. It took alot of effort to get it into its final position.

Something doesn't look right here.. This is the back of the hub behind the disc when pushed into position. The bearing and grease were open to the elements.

I am missing some dust seals... Very frustrating as I just cracked on with the parts I had. I now have to remove the bearing again to fit the seal which I will have to order.

The seal I am missing is the part on the top left in this picture. They are not easy to find as they are from a Cortina, I ended up finding some old stock on ebay.

Had to order a bearing puller to remove the bearing as there was no way the bearing was coming off again without one.

This is the kit I ordered.  It worked really well and the bearing was off in minutes.

Now ready for the seal to be fitted first once it turns up.

Cutting down bolts...

Been putting this job off a while..  Spent the whole day pretty much cutting down all the bolts that were too long.

I manage to kill 4/5 hacksaw blades, loads of metal dremel cutters..  Those bolts are tough!

All now looking much better now they are cut to size...
